They've essentially become two sides of the same coin. The whole political landscape has had the Overton Window shifted to the right.

What the conservatives suggested 20 years ago was unthinkable today ... but since the conversation has shifted to the right, it has become normalized today.

Discovers a planet with a humanoid species that speaks Quebecois, it's winter 80% of the time, the planet's main dish is a fried vegetable tuber they cover in a cheese product and gravy. Everyone works in a cooperative union yet wars and rebellions still occur, they constantly fight one another yet host annual international celebratory gatherings that everyone freely joins into. And the women are beautiful, the men are masculine and handsome, yet the females head the military and the men dominate the cooking arts.

Another example of how governments are more willing to place at risk or even danger the lives of their citizens and their soldiers .... rather than affect the bottom line of a company or corporation.

The sad part is that I've seen old friends do this to each other for decades .... then got terribly sad at the funeral of the first friend that died.
