It's because Americans on the whole think "ground beef" is "hamburger". Like the lettuce is "salad" thing.

They need an anthropomorphic glove to sell them on the idea of adding a protein to a carbohydrate so they can manage to feed their families.

We would love to have you, as long as you're a normal, respectful human being!

OOHHHHHHH there's no physical Bitcoins, THAT'S why it's a scam!

Shit, I wish I had figured this out before. Thank God you came along to open my eyes 🤣🤣🤣

All this time I thought Bitcoin Inc had my real bitcoins safely in storage. How could I be so fucking stupid?

I won't be replying as I'm now going to jump off a bridge given how badly I've been intellectually bested. I simply cannot go on any longer now that the truth behind Bitcoin has been revealed to me.

Never mind, I found one but I had to look way back.

You said crypto has no utility. Which is awfully naive and I'm not even sure you really believe it. But you're not really making a strong case. You're just...saying it has no utility.

What arguments? You haven't made a single argument, you've just been bloviating at random.

Tell me, what arguments have you made? Or is "crypto scam you dumb" the argument?

WHY is all crypto the same?

[–] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 month ago (2 children)

Uhhhh ok if you want to be pedantic, crypto is not immaterial as it exists as matter (the hardware holding the blockchain).

I guess I was under the impression you were using it to mean "without physical value" even though that's not the definition. I figured you couldn't possibly be trying to argue that there is no physical matter involved in Bitcoin.....

Oh my god you don't even know what fiat currency is.

Okay I think we're good here

[–] HumanOnEarth@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 month ago (4 children)

Just because you say it doesn't make it true, and if it were true you'd expect me to be invested in other "cryptos" surely.

Do you think I'm invested in any non-Bitcoin crypto? Why would I draw such an arbitrary line between one and the literal rest of them?

Maybe, just maybe there is a difference.

Remember these conversations down the road.

And stop saying crypto. We are talking about Bitcoin.

Fiat currency is immaterial. So much so that it can literally be created out of thin air.

Very, very good.

Very, very inevitable.

Ok, I'm in on that. They are gonna need that money.

But I'm going to buy $400 of Bitcoin with the rest of that $500
