I have Ubuntu touch installed on my pixel 3a xl. On the phone i can install waydroid with gapps which will allow you to install googleplay store. You should be able to run those apps, i don't use googleplay store though so your experiences may vary, just installed it to see if i could.. All i can say is give it a go. There are some other phones on the market you could buy and try it out.

On Ubuntu Touch i installed waydroid through the openstore then in terminal i had to use this command to run waydroid with gapps. sudo waydroid init -f -s GAPPS good resource on waydroid https://docs.waydro.id/

It's good, no annoying UI gotchas, never had a problem with calling/receiving/texts. Waydroid works great using F-Droid/Aurora store.

If it had an unlocked bootloader where i could install ubuntu touch i'd buy it. Otherwise naw.

Time to summon Hoekstra for a rebuke. Send him packing back to the Premier diaper Don, the bone spur draft dodging pedo protector.

Get fucked you orange diaper monkey, didn't you get Carney's message in Davos?

[–] FreeBooteR69@lemmy.ca 21 points 3 months ago (3 children)

I think the world's middle powers should answer Carney's call for a new world order of middle powers. We don't have to fight for the scraps the super powers toss in the dirt for us. We have our own powers, dignity, 1.5 billion pop market isn't something to sneer at,

I think we aren't as powerless as you think and that we have both done something that seems small but is a step in the direction of freedom from those corporations. We have joined a platform not owned by them. We have freedom to choose and make our thoughts heard still. So elbows up into the jaw of cynicism.

I think providing some money and support to Canadian platforms like those on thesocialweb.ca would help public conversation, free from corporate pressure. Also sign e-6879 if you are concerned about foreign influence in our media.

I feel this is a pivotal moment in history. If we can somehow avoid an American invasion, we can help build a more just and equitable world, one that can stand in front of giants and say, nuh uh with a waggy finger!
