Heavily modified vivaldi. Vertical tabs on the left side. Side panels with often used tools. Autohiding UI, pop-out links. I cannot live without native mouse gestures and the Vivaldi speed dial. Opera also offers it, but that browser is unfortunately a shell of what it was.

Zen browser as a semi backup.

I tried using zen as my main browser for a month, but I ended up going back to Vivaldi. It's just so much better.

Belgium is 100% not a stem family. Nobody lives with their parents if they can financially avoid it. It's not a thing and hasn't been for decades.

So true. I love the music and atmosphere. It is fantastic. The story looks great. But I do not enjoy the gameplay personally. I want to play it so much, but even 10h in, I'm still not truly enjoying it. Makes me sad, I want to love it so much.

Lol, didn't realize it was AI. Thought it was some weird Canadian or creole French.

That picture hurts soo much...

Starving kid embracing its mom, loving her unconditionally. Mom's eyes full of desperation.. Powerful image...

Nah, this system has been in place for years.

Place where I live also gives about the equivalent of 5000 USD for a birth. My wife got a single room in the hospital (very basic public hospital, but not a room with 4 other mothers). The 5k just about covered the medical costs for the pregnancy, birth and the additional cost for the room for 3 days ...

It's not a genocide anymore. We should start calling it what it is, a holocaust. The entire systematic destruction/eradication of a people, not just the murder of them, but the entire structural destruction of one.

I enjoy life. But I am very aware that if I die, it all just stops.

If not for the pain I'd cause my loved ones, I wouldn't mind dropping dead tomorrow. As long as it's instant and painless. Like turning off a pc. When it's off, it's over. Easypeasy. No more stress, hunger, love, joy, nothing. Doesn't sound horrible to me.

Suicide though? No way. There's too much good to actively keep living for.

Fair enough. It's still more news than the endless reporting major news websites do (I'm looking at you bbc) about his fucking tweets.

But I can see your point that it's not very newsworthy on Lemmy (nor is this new btw, he has done similar shit before)

Just an idea, but maybe nothing actually happened? So nobody is sharing their videos, or they're just not going viral because there is nothing to see... The truth is always more mundane than you want it to be...

What's more likely? A shadow government wiping thousands of videos without thousands of people being up in arms about it. If Gmail goes down for 15m, the whole world goes crazy. We're taking about the phones of an entire district being instantly cleaned, livestreams shut down, cloud backups (including people backing up to homeservers) being wiped and all. Maybe even dumb cameras and instax pictures being destroyed.

Or nothing but a random hoax of someone having fun?

If you still find the shadow government more likely, there is no discussion to be had tbh...

I'm traveling to the US mainland for the first time in my life in a few weeks.

I am not overly stressed about privacy, but I have read that US immigration can really overstep their boundaries. Are there any simple specific steps to take on my devices to protect my privace when going through US border control?

Remove my main accounts from my phone/tablet and use dummy accounts? Or just removing my biometrics?
