May have been covered before, but out of curiosity, are people here reasonably tech savvy?

Sweet gig! Hope you enjoy 🫡

Tbh, as much as the article is correct, and it should be doing more. It's a start. Hopefully by educating people about financial literacy, even if just for themselves, they'll have a better understanding of the government and how inept they can be

Good to know I should avoid it at least

Thanks for the in depth reply. I wasn't aware of the URL link redirection which definitely seems shady.

I did try it and didn't really enjoy it much tbh, but a lot of people do like it. I know the owner is fairly right wing, which for me is another point against.

Not that I use Brave, but out of curiosity why do you deem it unsafe?

Have to agree. Stuff is mostly clickbait these days. I mainly read RNZ, but occasional articles from anywhere I see posted here or reddit

After looking at the stats, it seems Maori are rather fairly represented in terms of their population (25% in parliament vs 17% of general population), however the quality of life for Maori is still below that of other ethnicities in terms of health and life expectancy.

The current government is rather corrupt (seen through my viewpoint as a kiwi, not USA levels) and hasn't done the Maori population any favours.

We may be more free, but not everything is rosy.

Oh definitely. I just deleted the reddit app from my phone, following all the major other socials. So now if I want to, I have to log in on a browser.

I have the same instances followed here as reddit, but it seems much better for my mental health some how

I'll see what I can do. I'm generally the same on reddit too.

Although sometimes the political posts get to me and I need to vent......
