In my teens I played dark DS1 for like 14 hours before I beat those damned gargoyles. I genuinely thought this game wasn't for me because I couldn't git gud. Delivering the deathblow to the wounded gargoyle when I basically 1 hp gave me a visceral experience I'll never forget. It taught me many things but chief among them was "I can do this. I can git gud, motherfucker"
