Fair point. I think there needs to be a legal definition of IP's that no longer have a claimant and therefore go public domain by default. If nobody can show ownership then nobody owns it.

I feel like Vegas will end up like it looks in Blade Runner 2049. It's so dependent on water from other states that I don't see it sustaining.

something something how do you like them apples?

Not to be that guy, but it's the 20th anniversary of the game, The Movies, so yeah. Could just read the title.

That game was so silly and fun. Forgot all about it! We used to make fun little movies and overdub them using Sonar.

Also The Body by his pseudonym Richard Bachman, in the book Different Seasons, which was remade into the movie Stand By Me.

The worst part is he didn't even join in the vote to own it. What a fucking coward.

This is what makes me sad every day. I'd love to be so rich money is just water out of a faucet to me, but at that point why not just do good? Like, even in a selfish way? If you're so fucking rich that you can change the fates of nations, why not do it just out of hubris and the desire to be put in the history books? "CaptainBlinky, who was known as a relentless capitalist, died having given his 200 billion dollars in wealth before he died to solve homelessness in the nation and will be known forever as the "homemaker." Like, why would you NOT do some sh like that? It boggles.

A civil war in the US in its current state would destroy the country. The end would be fractured states with their own borders. The US civil war in the 1800's was a war between two sides with borders between them. A civil war now would be neighbors killing each other in the streets. There's no glorious revolution to fix things here. If we don't fix is legally and peacefully, we don't fix it at all.

makes sense to them in the sense that they "helped their people" in the short term, and can retire before having to take responsibility for the damage they allow in the future. Politicians are generally a special kind of shit.

A couple points...

Hopefully the house doesn't fold, so the repubnicons don't get a precedent. Air travel hurts everyone, not just senate liberals. The higher class politicians don't even need to suffer TSA losses since private planes don't even use the TSA. Lastly, the house still has to fold, and I hope amongst hope that house Dems are bolstered by this betrayal. Remember, it was only 8 people who caved, and only for their legacies. From what I've read, none of them are even up for reelection, so it was 100% personal pride that drove them to give in to the traitors.

Not really. There's a lot of abandonware where the IP holders still pull out the lawyers.
