Some Lemmy instances were also down because of it.

Edit: At least that was the case for me.

Exactly. There will be matches where Viktor's tenacity and strength will be a better fit up front, and other matches where Kai's clever positioning and setup play in that false 9 position will work better.

So that's what George R R Martin looked like when he was young!

I didn't think you're stirring up fear. You are spreading knowledge and giving people the opportunity to prepare as best they can. Nothing wrong with that.

It's not just your files, although backing them up is important. If we get hit by another Carrington event it will quite possibly fry a lot of electronics.

I have a very rudimental Faraday Cage setup for this scenario. It's just a steel bucket with a steel lid that's lined on the inside with cardboard, and with aluminum foil on the outside to seal off the joins. But if I get notice that such an event is about to hit I'll be throwing some critical smaller electronics (notable a raspberry pi and a mini monitor), cables, and a mini solar panel+plus inverter into it (along with my backup device) and sealing it up with more aluminum tape.

Exactly.

This is going to be the next Google searches thing, isn't it. People being ignorant to, or forgetting that corporations are saying everything they say or do. And then bring all shocked when they get exploited for profits or reported to authorities for doing shady things.

Rinse and repeat.

This is an interesting and smart use case for locally run (and properly siloed) AI. Kind of an "identify any broad trends when it comes to spending habits based on this statement data, with particular focus on discretionary spending and areas where I can save money".

Have you tinkered with any LLMs for this? If so, which ones do better than others? I could see SLMs being really good for this eventually.

How... perplexing!

I have one near me. I took my kid there because he was really curious about what it's like inside malls. That was some depressing shit. Any mid-2000s nostalgia was eclipse by the zombie apocalypse feel of the place.

Can you turn off notifications for specific apps/programs in Windows 10? I don't remember. I know you can do that in Windows 11.
