Ha, I'll just leave it at that and not tell you about the bedroom, come hither eyes they make at each other! I don't even know where Celeborn is during this period, but I hope he comes into it at some point.

The man was a genius, and I'm actually from the West Midlands where he based Middle Earth on!

I do think it would be so difficult to portray a lot of the Silmarillion, as there's a lot of abstract and fantastical elements to it, but they said Lord of the Rings itself could never be filmed, and I'm so glad they were wrong about that. I've just come off a marathon myself this weekend and that cookbook sounds like an amazing idea

Oh for sure, it's one of the things I couldn't stomach about Rings, Galadriel and Sauron looking like they're catching feelings... Just no.

The tale of Turin would be epic to see played out with the money of Amazon, the universe is full of amazing stories, which does make you think why they had to embellish and twist so much to make Rings work.

I'd pay a lot of money to watch Tulkas wrestle Melkor to the ground, but it's probably a pipe dream 🤷🏻‍♂️

I totally agree, I'm apprehensive about the hunt for gollum, and it wouldn't be my first choice of subject to revisit middle earth, only time will tell on that front.

Is really like to see something from the dawn of time, with the song and the beginning of everything. Though I fear they'd make Melkor a tragic hero with a love interest and redeemable qualities!

You make some really good points, and it wounds me a bit that we got Rings of Power, instead of a prequel set in Fëanors time, or the war of wrath. I'd love to see a series based around that. How they'd portray Ungolaint is beyond me, but I'd like to see an attempt!

Maybe one day 🤞

That's exactly where I stand with him, a foot in each camp. How much death and destruction could of been avoided if he'd let the Valar reclaim the light from the Silmarils, though we don't know how Morgoth would of reacted to it and what the ramifications would of been there, but I do think that was a mistake on his part.

The Valar are a walking joke to me, Morgotg was released on their say so, with no fucks given to his actions afterwards. Walking. Joke.

I struggled a lot to begin with, it just strayed too far from the lore like you say, I had a lot of 'actuallyyyyy' moments, but I thought I'd stick with it if I could separate it in my head from the rest of the LOTR media, which I managed to.

Switching my brain off from the screaming nerd inside me made me actually enjoy it for ehayot was, and the last few episodes of the second season were, in my opinion, flipping brilliant.

And yeah, Galadriel is an absolute beast just being Galadriel, she doesn't need to be a 'Girl Boss'.

Are you in the 'Fëanor was right' or 'Fëanor really overreacted' camp?

As a fellow Tolkienite, what did you think of Rings of Power?

That's a good shout to be fair, or you could call you colander Boromir, it fits. Love from a fellow Tolkien nerd 🤝

And did you throw Boromir away because of all the holes?

Who's your favourite pan named after?

As I've got older, things like a new fridge or washing machine, something normally really boring. Got a new toaster recently and was so excited to use it 😂
