I agree, but despite all the shit AI waifu generators and the "let's shove it in everything just like we did with blockchain and metaverse" there are legitimate uses (medical, scientific) for AI I think where it has the potential to add value and improve life. AI in the current regulatory, financial, fiscal and moral landscape is a bunch of trouble waiting to happen.

That is why I think it's just rage baiting comparison to say "Your food uses more water than AI". It plays to the "we're replacing you with AI" sentiment.

The more nuanced message is that yes AI datacenters use a lot of water but still a lot less than meat production. I have read a while ago about how with AI they are looking to better target irrigation of crops to reduce the amount of water needed while giving the optimal amount of water for each plants. We'll see if it ends up being a net positive for water consumption vs the water used by the AI to do this...

It is well known that meat based food, especially beef, is a bad use of water ressources vs the nutritional value, probably worse than those ai datacentres for water.

I keep seeing this argument about "meat vs ai" and I think it's just a way to divert the blame and the anti-ai/anti-meat people's attention. We should be doing both, reducing meat/beef consumption and heavily regulating AI datacenters in regards to water and electricity use (regulated in all aspects but that's beyond the scope of this post).

On s'entend, de la gestion de rendez-vous, (et plus largement de soins de santé/patient) il y a plusieurs projets OSS qui le font. Partez de ces bases là et ajustez le fonctionnement ou ajouter des fonctionnalités.

C'est tellement un mauvais modèle pour du gouvernement de payer du saas. Tu a pas le logiciel, c'est compliqué et dispendieux à modifier. Tu es à la merci du fournisseur (même si c'est Québecois).

Avec 12 millions en (aux?) 6 mois tu peux te payer pas mal de travail de développement en plus d'un bon hébergement pour ta plate-forme. Si tu t'arrange pour hébergé en mode kubernetes/openshift c'est facile à déplacer de provider (ou d'héberger dans ton propre centre de données) quand le fournisseur essaie de te faire monter les prix ou se retrouve sous un gouvernement louche.

I'm going to play devil's advocate here.

Paying a contribution will not give me the feature I want or need from a project, most project explicitly say so. Paying for a LLM to create a PR or a fork that will contain that feature is often a lot easier and a pretty good guarantee I will get it.

I am not diving into the code quality or maintainability of such PR/forks which is a whole thing in itself.

It will depend on the material under the paint. Any particulate board you will probably want to replace. Wood can be dried, sanded and repainted depending on the depth of the damage.

But you will need to check the state of the material under the paint to know for sure.

Edit: looking closer at the picture it looks like melamine maybe? If that is the case you should replace it if possible.

I like to have them on esphome. In my case I have them as Bluetooth proxies and also use them with Bermuda BLE triangulation (in addition to the air quality stuff).

I have a Airgradient One (indoor) and a Airgradient Open air (outdoor) and love them. They are Esp boards with esphome configs available. They use readily available component that makes sensors easy to replace when they wear out or loose accuracy over time.

The whole project is open and you can buy the DIY kit and build it yourself or buy a prebuilt one.

The latest release is dated 2 days ago https://github.com/markqvist/Reticulum . Actively supporting is not the same as actively developing.

This should probably be taken as "I am tired of supporting everyone who did not RTFM, too bad if you can't make it work" and is a totally reasonable thing to do, especially as the project gain more traction.

There is a pretty good community around reticulum that is usually supportive.
