Ive been thinking a lot about how taste preferences over time evolve and Im kind of a curious about other peoples' experiences with this.

I seem to have a very strong attraction toward what I would call deep, heavy and dense flavor profiles; things that are umami heavy, smoky, earthy, dirtyish, liver-like, bitterness and even burned or charred stuff. Not even just salty or sweet things. Just the flavors that prolly have layers and some story behind.

At some point this became so pronounced that I started noticing I would crave very specific sensory stuff rather than specific foods. For example, I didn’t necessarily crave a certain dish, I craved the sensation of smoked aroma, fermented depth, mineral-like bitterness n eartiness, that “dirty” heavy umami complexity and even burned stuff as I said you sometimes get from aged, fermented, roasted vegetables etc foods.

I even noticed a strange pattern where my brain would sometimes push me toward foods that were not really intended for human consumption (I obviously didn’t eat anything unsafe, but the craving pattern itself was interesting and a bit concerning in a curiosity-driven way). It felt less like hunger and more like my brain was searching for a very specific chemical signal.

Over time, instead of following those impulses in risky or weird directions, I started finding more rational substitutes that seemed to satisfy the same neurological or sensory need:

  • Have some mushrooms, the most economic stuff I got.
  • Have some smoked and ovendried rib meat from arby's. Not so economic.
  • Some sauce stuff. I know HP's BBQ sauce. Planning to try more such as miso, soy, tamari and so on.
  • Smoked and roasted vegetables, my faves is paprika and eggplant, I also do love roasted corn but it is overrated.
  • Sausages with some seasoning perhaps
  • Offals or variety meats, you know them from Turkish street foods, also my mom cooks me some rice with offals
  • Anti-edema coffee of my literature teacher
  • Im open to suggestions or recipes anyways

I feel like online communities tend to talk about either “normal food preferences” or extreme experimental cuisine, but not really the in-between zone where your palate becomes more specialized over time.

So Im really interested in hearing other people’s stories about flavor evolution, unusual cravings, or how your relationship with food taste changed over time.

The app or site or whatever the thing forces me to upload some image so have my fave fictional character Ive grown with and still so do not ask why are you seeing a bread lookin woodpiece.

Çanakkale from Turkey becuz of my fam and me is from there, good history n place, good ppl and so.

Csa prevention and looking to the researches related to risk groups, listening to those we are seeing as risk groups as a society. I know this is more higher risk than video games, but methinks it has also can be more positive stuff as well if you do not romanticize certain things.

Yes. But Im more interested in daily use rather than fixing it. Im obsessed with vacuum cleaners since 2020 or smth (or the peak year of my vacuum cleaner autism), I used to be scared of em before for sensory reasons.

I do not think so. But when combined with the other the reverse furry stuff, I think it is off topic but I do relate to the "reverse" therian in the same way for furry.

Makes sense. Thanks.

Yes, I have a kind of a slightly difficult problem. What you would call me if I was just an alien or alien minded human who just attended the fandom with a human "furry" persona. I have a neurodivergent human oc who is a sparkle(-insert species) besides that pet rock dragon. All stuff that I can find about this is neither innaprp kind of nsfw stuff or just low quality shitposts n jokes. I mainly have humans and pet rocks as my fav animals for dead srs and Im crawing for a human "fursuit" while you guys know I crawed furryness for pet rocks before getting into those stuff. Ofc all of those for sfw art stuff only. Anyways, what you would call someone with those interests in this fandom, please sfw and serious stuff only.

Hmm. Im gotta go choose wisely then..

Ah, I will turn 18 soon too :^). My parents prolly aint throw a huge or expensive party for me. Just go 2 a relative w/ big house and call a few friends after school maybe. I want a blue BFDI (Battle For Dream Island - a cartoon on web which Im grown up w/) cake with some stuff like maybe getting some useful things 4 my pet rock (yes I have a huge "breed" pet rock) and get myself a bike I wanted for years or an ugly sweater, BFDI Woody (the char from same cartoon) plush maybe. I want that plush since it is out and loving the character since late 2010's.

Anyways, I dont think much stuff will be changed really. Prolly will have a legal right to drink, have a job, drive or smth. And methinks I cant neither afford any one or my mentally ill ass prolly will commit some crimes or go die while being drunk so Id rather to not drink. And the best thing after 18s prolly getting into a some meh kind of an university.

Just normalize talking about those online irl abuse/exploitation stuff instead of yelling at em nor grounding. And stop victim blaming even some of the professionals do that.

Maybe we should do normalize about talking about other stuff too, to body images in head including "problematic" ones to in some anormal/atypical attraction types to possible self diagnosed but not so loud neurodiversities such as realizing you are might be plural or have too specific kinds of ocd.

Ive seen many abusers online are aiming kiddies online with those stuff and since there are not much help and many stigma surrounding mental health and bs kind of therapists that does victim blaming, they will have either to go online with predators watching em and prey on them for those vulnerabilities thrn thus preds will shift blame to those kids or smth.

Ive seen kids young as 12 or smth in some high risk mental health communities. You can tell someone did not wanted em but predators def do. Basically do not give birth to kids if you cant accept em in any way, if you think your kid becoming dangerous after some time, methinks you are also responsible for some aspects of it if they are under some of age.
