There’s proof that officers are particularly good at ignoring crimes against gay victims of crime.

Go ask any gay person. Our experiences with police are rarely good, and never helpful. I still remember them breaking a guys leg in an unlawful raid on a gay art studio a few years ago.

Australia has voted in favour of a UN resolution demanding Israel rapidly end its occupation of the Palestinian Territories. The vote represents a shift in a longstanding position. Australia abstained on similar resolutions at previous meetings of the General Assembly.

Prosecutors in Japan are calling for an Australian grandmother accused of importing 2 kilograms of methamphetamine to be jailed for 10 years.

Donna Nelson was found with the drugs hidden under a false bottom of her travel case, after landing at Tokyo's Narita Airport in January last year.

She has told the court she picked up the bag in Laos for her online romantic partner, who needed it as a sample for his sprawling fashion business.
