This horrifying event will be fully approved of by the MAGAts that I encounter online, who still believe that it's only "illegals" who are grabbed and that the ICE goons can somehow just tell who is or isn't legal without even looking at their documents.

Hey, give me some wasabi paste and soy sauce and I will quite happily eat raw fish. πŸ™‚

You can do a ketogenic diet with no meat at all. Children with epilepsy that didn't respond to medication used to be put on a high fat ketogenic diet. The fat can be vegetable based.

Oddly enough, that diet can also be used to treat menopausal hot flashes. I had a bad reaction to HRT, so I tried the high fat keto diet for a couple of months and went from having about 12 flashes a day down to 2 or 3.

What is this "golden dome" anyway? If he's deploying the military to cities in his own country, who is left for international defense?

So grandpa's dementia has kicked in again and he's repeating himself.

Even before then, it was a boom and bust sort of business.

I worked in the oil patch in Calgary for a little over 30 years. It has always been a cyclical boom and bust business. You save money when the work is plentiful and live modestly when the inevitable downturn comes and the layoffs start.

I watched a lot of baking shows in the first 2 years of the pandemic - they were comforting somehow. I was even inspired to try a few things I'd never attempted before.

There is/ maybe still is a pub in Calgary that was once a funeral home.

The Inuit avoided scurvy by eating some of their fish and meat raw during long Arctic winters. Apparently there is some vitamin C in raw flesh which is destroyed by cooking.

The risk of parasite infestation increases, but they probably learned what to watch out for, just as they learned to avoid eating polar bear livers.

Call me crazy, but pissing off the military seems like a very bad idea.

Christmas always wins. It struts into the stores before Halloween is over, elbowing all those fake pumpkins and plastic skulls off the shelves and squatting there until well after New Years when it gets dragged kicking and screaming into the half price bins.
