Most men in Star Trek would fall into this category. Sisko fills the top spot for me though, for his portrayal as a supportive, affectionate, and masculine father while balancing the responsibilities of wartime leadership.

It depends on how you play, but I think Arthur Morgan from RDR2 can be a positive masculine role model if you play high honor the whole game or choose redemption in its final act.

Been seeing this headline for going on 10 years now.

As someone who's become more and more of a Scrooge over the years, Gremlins is my partner and I's go to "Not Christmas" Movie

Similar in vibes, though more "Christmasy" Krampus (2015) has become another of my holiday staples.

Love to see my favorite homoerotic fart movie discussed on Lemmy!

That's embarrassing for an item with this price tag. It makes the entries product unimpressive and gives the notion that it was rushed.

Halloween’s sincere, secular association is FUN. It’s also about community; it’s the only holiday that actually involves getting together and participating with your neighbors rather than just your family. Under capitalism, all holidays involve a deluge of cheap plastic crap, but at least Halloween sticks to its season.

Shaxs has some great anti-facist quotes!

BOIMLER: I just asked if you learned how to throw pots on Bajor.

SHAXS: You think I had time for anything other then resisting? Fighting Fascism is a full time job!

Benevolent dictator is an oxymoron. The most benevolent thing a dictator can do is dismantle their dictatorship.

Has been for years. Notorious Scab too.

In a post on X, Newsom addressed the U.S.'s global trading partners, writing "California is here and ready to talk."

It comes after a Fox News report revealed that Newsom is directing his state to pursue "strategic" relationships with countries announcing retaliatory tariffs against the U.S., urging them to exclude California-made products from those taxes.

I’m genuinely curious. Years ago, I was a chubby young pothead who lived on fast food. Taco Bell, McDonald’s, KFC, you name it—I ate it. Back in college, fast food probably made up at least 50% of my diet. And it wasn’t just because it was quick and cheap—I actually enjoyed it.

But these days, I find myself craving it less and less. Besides being more health-conscious, it just doesn’t hit the spot like it used to. It’s more expensive than ever, mostly bland, and I feel terrible after I eat it. So what’s changed? Is it just part of the enshitification of everything? Have I just gotten old, or has fast food really gone downhill?
