Well, the problem is, you are trying to maintain a very niche community without even an active general purpose tf2 community. So it shouldn't be surprising, I guess.
TF2 Weapon Ideas
A place to discuss Team Fortress 2 weapon stats, game mechanics, and come up with ideas for new weapons.
Rules:
-
Posts must be related to classes and weapons only: No gamemode ideas or other content that is not related with weapons.
-
Stay on the realm of tf2: No ideas that would be too overpowered or nigh impossible to implement in tf2.
-
No NSFW posts: No nsfw posts allowed unless its innuendos for the sake of humor.
-
No harrasment: Personal attacks are not allowed. Harsh critique is allowed to some extent, but try to keep it as civil as possible. In the same vein, try to not get offended for receiving critique for your ideas.
-
No low effort memes: Meme posts are allowed but need to be an actual weapon with effort placed on it.
-
No random weapon generator posts or stealing other people's weapons: low effort ideas are allowed but they must be YOUR idea only.
Brother, I got bad news for you. I ran a much less niche community for Monster Hunter on lemmy.world for over a year. Even at the height of activity I was lucky to get 20 interactions on a post. I got tons more interactions on random MH comments in other communities.
Best of luck to you, but I don’t like your chances.
I would guess that if you have any metric data, you could see how many visitors vs comments/posts you have, and then work on engagement. Post more open ended things to try to get people to want to post.
Otherwise, a sure bet is to get the word out about your community and try to bring more people in. Which means telling people who aren't on you server to come join it. Probably Reddit and maybe a website/post that's going to get search indexed at some point that leads people here.
great ideas overall! thank you! reddit may be hard...cause I got banned for some reason...but I can think of somewhere else to post I think
What is it?
Well we need more people making weapons, I like making my own weapons and having people posting here but the server will probably die if only I am posting cause some days I dont have that many ideas
I admire your enthusiasm and it is appreciated, though, Lemmy is quite smaller than Reddit. Niche communities are more difficult to establish, but it is sorely needed.
Best bet is to probably move to Reddit
