Israel should control the Gaza Strip for the foreseeable future and "cleanse if of enemies," Likud MK Amit Halevi told Radio 103FM on Sunday.

“We want to occupy the territory to cleanse it of the enemy; otherwise, it will kill your children and kidnap your grandchildren again,” he said. “Occupation is the nature of war.” Halevi said Israel is required to make a fundamental change in Gaza, part of which is control.

He said Israel needed “to return to Gaza permanently and control this space, because it is part of our homeland.”

When asked whether the occupation of the Gaza Strip would lead to the citizenship of Palestinians, he replied, “We want to distinguish between the status of the territory and control over it and the status of the residents, which is definitely something that deserves to be defined. When you give control over education, culture, and religion, you get the results you get.”

Israel wants to "cleanse" Gaza. I wonder what Adolph would think. What a clusterfuck this is.

And then Zionist twats will say there's no evidence for "intent of a genocide".

That is what will be written in the history books at this rate. It'll be illegal to teach the true history.

Oh no trust me, most of the world is watching and writing this shit down.

Zionism is a cult. It's a whole country of people brainwashed to be psychopaths

I'm confused, isn't Israel killing children? Are they going to cleanse Gaza from themselves?

They seem to think it’s ok when they do it. I.e. kidnap unarmed health workers, bind their hands, execute them and toss them in a mass grave.

The rest of the "free" "democratic" world has supported them the entire time, and is now equating merely voicing support for the victims of genocide with terrorism.

I figured the turning point would come around the time Israels far right committed domestic terrorism, and violently stormed IDF bases demanding the release of a soldier charged with using rape as torture. That changed nothing. Our "ally" is fucking indistinguishable from any Nazi, and our governments continue to whole heartedly support genocidal fascists.

I can’t believe they haven’t learned more from their own history

Yes, but now the shoe's on the other foot!

All this displays is that the abused are likely to become the abuser — a well-known statistically significant reality in psychology — and that religious nationalism and conservatism will always lead to fascism.

This is a particularly disturbing escalation of rhetoric. For those who don't know, these types of statements have until now come from far-right leaders propping up the government. This is from Netanyahu's own party, which he controls with pretty much total authority.

You've been denying every bit of that and been explicitly pro-israel to the point of deleting pro Palestinian comments over non-existent rules violations over in the news community.

I remember you defending the Sde Teiman torture-rape camp when the videos first came to light.

I find it impossible to believe someone, let alone a biased moderator of News, that defended Sde Teiman would find anything disturbing.

P.S. tags are fun.

The rules of the !News community are enforced with the best consistency we can manage. I do not make moderation decisions based on my personal beliefs, but the beauty of federation is that there are many news communities to follow and contribute to if you don't approve of moderation decisions.

I have never defended torture of any kind, but feel free to link any comments that I have made if you need clarification.

Lastly, if someone who often supports Israel says this is particularly bad, what does that tell you?

Thanks for the heads up, nice looking out

Likud noticed they can get away with anything so they are all dropping the act of caring about Palestians.

More interesting is the international media completely ignoring it when even Jerusalem Post is going hard in the headline.

It's been amazing to watch an entire country flush its goodwill down the toilet in relatively no time at all.
