One of the original, and currently largest, punk communities on Lemmy. The purpose of this place should be obvious from the title. Self promotion is ok, but spam is not, so keep it reasonable.
The goal is to help everyone find new tracks from around the world. Post new music, or your old favourites, but hopefully as you browse the group you'll find something you haven't heard before. Think more crate digging than top 40 streaming services.

This is fucking awesome. If you're getting old, might as well be an old punk. Better than sitting around watching TV and doing social media. (oh. uh. except for lemmy. lemmy's cool, kek.)
Seriously, I was at a punk show a couple weeks ago and it was a great mix. It was a local thing, at a bar with like 30-40 people, and the mix was like half teens and 20s, a quarter 30s and 40s, and a quarter older than that. ofc it's hard to tell, I dunno.
I'm 50. I go to Punk shows. Been doing so since I was a teenager cause fuck em if they want to judge anyone for liking something. Not very Punk of them.
That sounds great and would be much more my thing too. Small bars, loud music. Let's go.
Yeah, I'm in the upper midwest, it took a while of checking out venue listings, looking at var band's bandcamp/insta/youtube pages, etc but once you find the right venues and bands it's easier to track what's going on. A lot better than back in the day when you had to hear by word of mouth.
Look at Keith, he's doing OFF! now a days and it's pretty awesome!
