Strong performances in the opening two rounds of the season by George Russell have been drowned out by the noise surrounding his former team-mate and his new one

Itโ€™s been unfortunate that he hasnโ€™t been in many battles so far this season, but as long as heโ€™s in the podium race, those battles will come on their own, and weโ€™ll see more of him on TV. I donโ€™t think anybody disagrees that heโ€™s a good driver, the TV feed just mainly tries to find battles for position - as it should.

Agreed! We've had a good decade of the TV only following the top 2 drivers who are 3 secs per lap faster than the rest of the field and have no contest whatsoever. Whilst there was plenty of battles to be had further back in the field.

I think last year we had some race where we saw Verstappen for lap 1 and then not see him till the last lap. I prefer the TV focus on the action most of the time. Although sometimes we get 4 replays of somebody on fresh tyres overtaking using DRS for place 14 or something. But it's still better on the whole.

For sure! I wonder how many people in the community remember the Schumi days of watching a Ferrari bomb around the track all alone for 2 hours. Thrilling. Really.
