I've been blocking a lot of communities in an attempt to avoid that.
I've decided that with this online presence of mine, I'd rather not be regurgitating doom and gloom. No matter how justified it might be.
Just block and move on. Looking back when I first join Lemmy it was tedious but now I barely have anything but good interaction on here :)
I've been told I'm "sticking my head in the sand" by actively limiting my exposure to news particularly. Apparently some people feel like we're obligated to feel miserable all day every day.
I mean, the hope is that seeing all the unjust bullshit going on should galvanized you into action to stop it, not make you feel pointlessly miserable.
This is good advice.
I wish I wasn't working in tech.
If I'm feeling this way I leave my phone in the furthest away place I can and do something else.
