Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend Feminism@beehaw.org for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.

Don't use synthetic hair seems to be the takeaway.

This makes sense when I think about it, they're not a standardised industry and loads are going to be made in cheap factories. I've no idea how dangerous it is to have them as part of your hair, how much does it get into your body? It's really disappointing though, braids look great and they make hair care really easy,

Back in the 90s synthetic hair was so prevalent that it seemed to be everywhere, but today, there's a lot less of it around and due to it being replaced by real hair as far as extensions go.

I think synthetic hair still is quite big in wigs though and I can only assume it will evolve in the same way and be largely replaced by real hair as they get cheaper.

I'm old enough to remember that! Hopefully it will change

It's also kinda gross when it's been revealed that a lot of extensions we use for our hair contain nasty chemicals. So even if you didn't chemically treat your hair, you were still exposed to bad chemicals by other means. Makes me so glad I have microlocs!
