Can anyone confirm if this is philodendron? Using a photo app didn't help.

PlantNet suggests that it's something called Golden Pothos https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epipremnum_aureum

Also not cat safe ๐Ÿ˜ฟ this was not a great housewarming gift

It depends how chompy your cat is. It's not intrinsicly poisonous like a lily but has oxalates so if your cat decides to eat it it will get irritated. But yeah if it's a gift I would stear clear

I have a bunch of pothos and a friend has asked me to cat-sit so we have both gone down a rabbit hole of research !

It looks just like my philodendron Brasil (which is in desperate need of some water so isn't as glossy as yours)
