Mildly Interesting

This is for strictly mildly interesting material. If it's too interesting, it doesn't belong. If it's not interesting, it doesn't belong.

This is obviously an objective criteria, so the mods are always right. Or maybe mildly right? Ahh.. what do we know?

Just post some stuff and don't spam.

Told her how i thought the world looked like when i was 9-10 and then we made a map on her current knowledge. Not to make fun of it, but for saving it for the future. Also, we are danish, not asian. We just like their culture, food and nature very much!

They tell me NZ is the same as Australia and Canada, but Icelandish.
Everyone's saying it.

You joke but a (NZer) family member on an overseas holiday got into an argument with a local over the existence of NZ. Family member, being a tourist, was asked where they were from and said New Zealand. Nothing strange there. Local said that NZ was a state in Australia. Confidently incorrect. When my family member tried to correct them, they argued they were right and the person who was from the actual country was utterly wrong 🤦‍♀️

I think that's NZ on the map, it's just attached to Australia

Oh yeah, good point!

Not bad but it's interesting how Vietnam and Nepal are on par with continents. I feel like this might have been drawn by someone from East Asia or South America, considering how it is positioned. Also noting Asia itself is not mentioned. There is no Middle East.

Nope, danish. My 7 year old sister (and i) is very interested in the ecosystems of Asia. Especially Snow Leopards!

Nepal getting a lot of relevancy on her mind.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Yeah, she knows most about that because of nature and stuff.

We did an experiment when I was in school to have everyone draw a map of the world, and I was told that people draw the country they're from the largest and the most accurately, whereas other countries are often indistinct shapes and smaller in scale.

This leads me to believe you are somewhere in South America

Nope, Denmark

Antarctica is a humpback whale, S.A. is a manatee, N.A. is a beaver, Nepal is a big damned clam...
