What an absolutely perfect landscape for a castle!
Castles
A place to share cool castles!
Post images or any other content relating to castles, châteaux, palaces, towers, keeps, fortresses, and follies. The following content is encouraged but not required:
- Castle name in native language (English name) - location [include country and region, if not city/town]
- Best website (official or otherwise)
- Some sort of map link
- Visitation details: open/closed to public, closed but technically reachable, tours?, etc.
- History: Whatever can be briefly copy-pasted
More than just images are welcome. Only real rule is that content must refer to a real-life structure, so please no fantasy/fictional castles! Reasonable exceptions include media showcasing period life and technology that somehow relates to castles.
Provence is very pretty for sure, a bit overpopulated around the coasts but go a bit more inland and it's stuff like in the photo everywhere you look. You can also go check some pictures of "gorges du Verdon" for the step up with bigger mountains and turquoise blue lakes.
I wholeheartedly agree. Provence is so pretty and the "Gorges du Verdon" are stunning.
There's nothing quite like letting your feet hang off the side of a canoe into the refreshing water during a scorching hot sunny day on these lakes. Maybe we should go again this summer during the yearly family visit...
Oh, I hope you can do that. Also I am seriously jealous now.
If it makes you feel better the rest of the year I live in a flat, grey, cold, wet and miserable place (the Netherlands 🤣)
I appreciate the sentiment, but my living situation is not all that much better. 😅
If only we could be in a small café above the Lac de Sainte-Croix right now, have a croissant and a coffee...
