Oh lordy you picked the wrong hobby if 300 is breaking the bank lol. You can get some similar to the watch you posted from citizen. They have some nicer Eco drive watches that are powered by light which is nice and they're fairly stylish. I've got a few I love as daily beaters.

Casio f-91w is a very solid and affordable beginners watch.
