Metaphor is different than Persona, if you lose in Persona, you could lose a lot progress, they made Metaphor a lot more forgiving than other Atlus games. I guess I'm fine with that.

Metaphor's primary safety net came in the form of the "rewind" system, which lets players reverse their actions if a battle's going sideways and try it again from the top as many times as they choose.

Why is that new to me. Is rewind on Hard mode not available? I finished Metaphor

Just started the game on friday on hard mode and it's definitely there. Saves a few seconds here and there if you miss your first attack, get almost wiped and would load back anyway. I guess it could also come in handy to scout for the enemy weakness, but that feels kinda cheap.

I don't remember it's availability in hard mode, but i do remember it being pretty useless. If i lost a flight it was because i wasn't prepared before hand and rewinding would just have mostly the same thing play out.

For me the worst is losing allies for the rest of the game like in Fire Emblem.

I kinda like the game for that mechanik when i startet it. But nowadays there are a lot of difficulty settings to play it the way you want to.
