That was more or less what I expected/hoped for.

And it worked out as I expected/hoped - the whole issue in the first place was that she hit a wall trying to direct a love story, so even beyond saving the world of Perishing, that was the central problem that had to be solved.

And the last scene was nice - predictable in retrospect, but handled well.

All in all, I liked it. The series started off really strong, but then hit a bit of a slog at about the 2/3 mark. The end was nice though and while it might've been a bit trite, it was the ending that Natsuko wanted, and that everyone deserved.

Drawing Luke as an ultimate weapon was something I did not expect but if you think about it's obvious that THE villain can only be defeated by THE hero.

I kinda wish they had a little bit more time to celebrate but seeing them in real world made up for it.
Now I kinda want to see some OVA SoL comedy reverse Isekai spin-off of them having a good time in real world.

Overall really good show. The only thing that feels off for me was the ending. It feels too perfect but still I don't dislike it. Bad ending wouldn't really be a way imo.

Title drop! Zenshuu is easily my favorite anime of the Winter 2025 season. This is partially because the Winter 2025 season on a whole may have been weak and I've delayed watching a few shows that I know I will like, but Zenshuu itself is a delightful experience.

very end spoilersJustice! 😭

A bunch of references in the posters in GENJITSU for what Natsuko drew:

Good, but not great. The first half hits hatd, but the second have would have benifited from an extra episode. And the sidden perfect ending feels kind weird, so I have to agree with the birdector a bit, even if a terrible ending would have been worse. But its enjoyable nontheless.

Different, but not necessarily great.

spoilerThe good ending did give me a sense of relief though, even if it felt too deus ex machina, i.e. why didn't Natsuko draw Mighty Greatsword Luke to begin with?

The QJ subplot didn't pay off emotionally, he just shows up to be her flashlight before being destroyed again.

Memmln's turn from the Dark Side was jarring for me too.

Natusko's adult self telling her she must draw was predictable.

And where did the new Soul Futures come from? Don't tell me Natsuko and Luke's looooove...

I was hoping that Natsuko would take more agency over a new ending for Tale Of Perishing after this point:

spoilerI mean she could have just drawn a happy ending.

The highlights from the show in the end credits were cool though.

why didn’t Natsuko draw Mighty Greatsword Luke to begin with?

Natsuko drew the Luke she's drawn all her life. Throughout the show she's been drawing existing animations. In the dark she comes to accept that drawing that Luke isn't enough. In the end, with the emotional support of QJ, she realizes that she should draw her own Luke, the one she's come to know and fall in love with. It's her coming to terms with her feelings towards Luke, which is emphasized by what she says after she draws him. Or so I say. A line from Natsuko about what sparked the change would've been better than listening to QJ moan. Really anything probably would've been better than listening to QJ moan. "I know, I should've drawn him shirtless!", whatever, anything else, please.

I was hoping that Natsuko would take more agency over a new ending for Tale Of Perishing after this point.

I was definitely hoping to see Natsuko draw an entire new in-canon ending for Horobiku Monogatari. Do a complete revision! That's literally the title of the show!

I like your interpretation of the events, that makes more sense now.

This needed one more episode of falling action.

But otherwise, really good anime. Imma remember this one for a long time.
