Hi have tried to comment on a makertube video using my lemmy account, but I can't even find the video using the search function.

Is this the problem known?

This is a funny conincidence, because I just came to tchncs for this exact reason. To be honest, I haven't completely understand how using my account from one APub app on one instance (Lemmy on Tchncs) with other instances of other APub apps (PeerTube on MakerTube) even works. Is it supposed to work just like that? Or wouldn't you have to "link" your account to other instances somehow? Maybe the two don't federate?

Okay, I just saw that when you're not logged in with any account in MakerTube and click the "comment" field, you got the choice to either log in with a local account, ot comment with a remote ID - from any other instance off any Apub app - by typing it in first. Being logged in to Tchncs.de though and entering my ID there, I get to a discuss.tchncs.de page saying "couldn't download" or sth
