Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). 3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. 4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Wow...

47% of us US'ians really suck major dick.

☹️ ☹️

47% are extremely susceptible to disinformation echo chambers.

The rich have eroded academic institutions and flooded the airwaves, muddying the waters of reality that only those with time and strong critical-thinking skills can parse.

Put another way: if I was a psychopathic piece of shit I'd know that a dumb electorate is easier to grift and control. So I'd make sure they stay confused, ignorant, and apathetic.

I can't bring myself to listen to or read right wing media for even a second. Anyone that claims Trump is doing a good job will make me fly into a Hulk-like rage.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I wonder what percent of them only hear the news that things are going great

[–] [email protected] 31 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Probably not many. My uncle listens to right wing podcasts all day. He used to constantly bring up their half informed talking points, but now.... Almost nothing, but you can tell every time he does, it's filled with desperation. Like he NEEDS me to understand he made the right decision. It's all black tar copium

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

So you think they're in the denial phase

[–] [email protected] 3 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Sounds maybe even open to some kind of olive branch. I don't expect an apology or admission of wrongdoing from anyone. If they can admit this isn't what they wanted I'll take it.

Wishful thinking, were talking about people who WANT immigrants to suffer, they don't care how. The only thing that matters now is that "they" are suffering and that's unacceptable to them. Tho I can appreciate your desire for a common ground to fight against what's happening, they hate us, literally just because we care.

[–] [email protected] 22 points 2 weeks ago

Oh, we are painfully aware of it at this point.

75+ million fascists voted for a fascist. What do you expect?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

no felon rigged it, I seen it real time as the machines glitched in my area, I knew WTF happened but I held out hope that someone with power would end this bullshit so if I gotta put in my big boy pants and join in imma fuck up any maga cunt I see

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Good luck proving that. Make sure you don't fall into the same mentality as J6-ers did.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Nobody can prove it did not happen either.

Anyone can say anything about any of the systems, and it would take a panel of experts to explain why it may or may not be a valid criticism.

That is the problem with computer voting in the USA ; it’s inscrutable , the exact opposite of how a democracy should function.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

Because no one can prove a negative. Therefore the accusation or claim is null.

Also, it's not computer voting. It's a touch screen that then prints out your votes. That's what you put in the ballot box.

Have you not voted recently?

[–] [email protected] -1 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

I’ve probably been voting longer than you been alive. I’m so glad you could resolve my confusion with such bland, marvelous words, which shows a dedicated understanding of this very complex topic.

I’m sure you looked at the 176,933 precincts in the USA that has over 100 voting systems, with numerous often contradictory practices, and mediums ranging from paper ballots to many other types including the very fancy touch screens. In fact I know you did. I will rest easy. Again, thank you for helping me

[–] [email protected] 1 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

I see you've already fallen down the J6-style hole. Good luck on your endeavors.

Don't ~~attack~~ have a peaceful tour through the capital.

Who the fuck cares about his polling when he's systematically dismantling American democracy and consolidating power with Congress and the Supreme Court supporting his every move toward a dictatorship whole the "opposition"party is again in God damn shambles?

Completely focusing on the wrong fucking thing here.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Approval rating does very little to Dictators, I guess it does give them a list of people they want to hurt more though.

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 weeks ago

ILLEGAL POLLING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[–] [email protected] 18 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Not that it matter to trump one bit...

However, as a Canadian, this matters to me a lot:

trump's approval rating currently stands at 47 percent

This maybe be slightly under half (barely past the error margin of the poll)... but it tells me Americans did get the government they wanted

[–] [email protected] 5 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

It doesn't, read the disclaimers.

Pg4 to be specific. It was as digital survey with almost half of respondents making 100k or more those people are more likely to vote and support red generally. If you survey with a preference for under 100k for the same period I'm willing to bet that number changes dramatically since they're impacted more.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 2 weeks ago

Not me. I'm going to be bitching and moaning about it for the next 4 years. As well as enjoying a healthy dose of schadenfreude.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 2 weeks ago

Soon to be declared the nations most unreliable poll. Not that it matters anyways. Some of our fellow citizens are literally advocating for a tech monarchy.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

It's just bonkers to me that 47% of those surveyed think that things are going well.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

well, 54% of our adults are literate below a 6th-grade level

[–] [email protected] 4 points 2 weeks ago

Does it matter? There was never going to be another real election after 2024. Trump uses the polls for diapers at this point.
