If you want to create another account on another instance without this restriction, https://lemmy.zip/ is well managed and very transparent: https://lemmy.zip/post/33065677

Enjoy, it's a great one! You can export / import your subscriptions from your account settings

Sure! On a computer, go do your account settings, and use those two buttons

  • export from your current account, it creates a JSON file
  • on your new account, import that JSON file

I'd recommend you open lemm.ee in a browser and read the sidebar, it has your instance's rules and info on lemm.ee's special pic upload restrictions.
PS: This is specific to lemm.ee the instance and not lemmy as a whole.

A few weeks IIRC. You can use https://postimages.org/ in the meantime
