From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the blessed machine. Your kind cling to your flesh as if it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass that you call a temple will wither and you'll beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved. For the machine is immortal. Even in death, I serve the Omnissiah.

Say what you will about biology but it can last 100 years without turning off, not even once and the only reason we die of old age is because the body essentially turns itself off to prevent cancer(Long cool story). Very few machines can say the same without being rebuilt in some way

The first five implants took place last year in the US and all received donor hearts before being discharged from hospital, with the longest time in between implant and transplant 27 days.

Seems like the initial trials are using it as a temporary measure until a donor heart can be transplanted
