Can we get rid of NZ First already? They just pander to whatever they think is going to get them some votes from the retirees without actually having any backbone - I mean they are just complaining about a policy that they voted in favour of a few years ago!

Recommend you write to your MP to suggest they vote against

As long as Winston is around the party will be around. Without him it dies.

This particular politician/party have always been like this. Their leader has been in politics for decades and is a professional at staying in the news.

The party got 6% of the vote at the last election, they just happened to be needed in a three party coalition to be able to make a government with over 50% of parliament.

This bill is unlikely to get very far, but they know that and that's not the point.

Ok 6% for morons seems not that much. I hope you guys stay away from rightwing nuts.

When we are discussing out National interest, we should not Act on impulse and name and shame our idiotic politicians.

No this is just Populism from a Centrist party.

Winston has been in Parliament for 50 years and is adept at polling his constituency to see what would be popular with them.

He is borrowing Trump buzzwords and adding them to his arsenal, but his party sits in the middle of the NZ political spectrum between the two biggest parties. That's why he has so much power, sometimes neither side can govern without him.

Yup. It's here and looks like here to stay.
