Now that Google is slowly but surely going to shits, i'm searching for a new search engine, and i was thinking, of going the extra mile and hosting my own, decentralized one, but which one should i choose (YACY, Presearch or Seeks), or are all of them not there yet?

Good experiences with Searxng. I'd go that route.

Is Searx(ng) really an alternative? Last I checked it's more like a front end to other search engines.

Yea I guess, as it aggregates results from other engines. Its self hostable and pretty privacy friendly which is why I recommended it.

I don't they'll ever "be there" unless people like you start using them!
