We had a little cabin right out the entrance to White Oak.

Definitely worth the trip! Skyline Drive has some amazing overlooks and the hiking is top notch. If your going to camp there, consider bringing a portable power station - I've found gearscouts.com super helpful for finding one with decent $/Wh ratio that won't break the bank.
