Hell yes I can! I think this is the closest likeness yet. His expression is really close but not quite right. The eyes though, that's my favorite part. I used a completely different process and it worked much better for me! The whole painting was nearly finished but no eyes, pretty much just closed eyelids. Then I started painting on the eyes and it helped me a ton.

It really is. I've looked at this again, and I think you've captured more of the essence of SJ in the eyes than the photo does. In your work, there's more of his "What the fuck?"-ness. Amazing how art works. I have no skill in this direction, so it seems like magic to me. Great stuff!

Thank you! Now let's see if I can replicate the success. Then I'll try to do it off screen. Looking at the source image next to what I'm painting is a lot easier than a live model so I'll try that next when I'm feeling confident to see how it goes.

Looking great again. The head shape, eyes and skin are all seeing the work you put in from your previous paintings. By taking the artistic license to edit out the bit of jowl hang makes being able to see the chin much nicer. You have a wonderful job on the eyes so much of how Samuel shows his work is through the eyes so itβs nice with the whole package looks like it should. I think now you might consider doing a bit more on blending with your colors. Right now it looks like Samuel but you could much closer with a bit more time adding more colors to give yourself a smoother time blending.

Love it! You really nailed the lighting and colouring. I love how you did the hair too, it's always a little tricky to paint something where there's so many of something. Great job and keep up the great work!
Thank you! The hair was a place holder and when I finished the rest I thought it fit and just needed a little extra detail. Totally shocked it worked.
