I like the steam deck, but I have many physical copies of PC games, any good way to install these? Ideally without internet access. Thanks!

Dock, disk drive, desktop mode?

edit: rip disks to iso and stick them on a flash drive?

Yep. Remember that the deck is a PC, so you'd install them, not "sideload" anything.

You'll still most likely need to run the setup with a compatibility layer (i.e. WINE/proton). Just add the setup as a non-steam game and install it via the steam client (in Desktop mode)

Thanks for the info. Well, if I'm using SteamOS anyway could I do it without the steam client and no internet connection?

Just so I'm understanding games can be ISO format and then install diredtly?

Honestly the best at method will depend on the specific game. Generally the best way is to just have the install folder for a game, and add the .exe to steam as a "non-steam game". Force a compatibility in steam game properties and select a version of proton. Some games will require additional windows components/dll to be installed through proton tricks.

Other good options are lutris has automatic installers for a lot of games, and many will work off of a disc iso image. Bottles is also a good tool for installing windows games.

If you can get the ISO mounted a program call lutris help with installing cd base games on Linux and thus the deck

What do you mean with sideloading? You just install the games, it's a Linux computer.
