They want to own the internet and all the voices on it. That's the long and short.
Just look at Usenet these days. If there are any organics left hanging out on there.
At least the Torment Nexus sounds like an exciting dystopia. This is the boring kind. I'm not expecting LLMs and image generators to suddenly start a nuclear war and/or enslave us - they'll just make some numbers go up in a spreadsheet somewhere.
But now who will donate pretend coats for the virtually needy?!
Beats throwing hot pennies at the poor, I suppose.
