The name Kjerag is possibly a compound of kje which means kid and ragg which means goat’s hair shag.

Why is that man holding a fish in that picture?
The first ascent of Kjeragbolten, the boulder stuck between two rock cliffs, of a fish named Freddy. Freddy was a cod caught at Lysefjord, the fjord beneath Kjerag.
