That means your car's politics have shifted too far to the left. Schedule an appointment with the dealer to have it recentered.

[–] DmMacniel@feddit.org 5 points 1 year ago

Damn that cursed left shift!!

Why are BMW owners all the exact fucking same worldwide?

[–] Tobberone@lemm.ee 20 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's because BMW doesn't top up the indicator fluid as standard during service.

[–] jaybone@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

If you pay extra for the service, they will disable the lights for you.

This is the way!

[–] limelight79@lemm.ee 24 points 1 year ago

lol I came upon a BMW that clearly had just missed his turn (he slowed down, realized it was too late to make the turn, then sped up again), then turned on his turn signal to pull into someone's driveway to turn around.

I said to my wife, "This BMW driver is so lost, they're using their turn signal!"

[–] deltapi@lemmy.world 19 points 1 year ago

"nevermind, it's fine, it turned off by itself when I made a right-hand turn"

Drain your blinker fluid

[–] ArbitraryValue@sh.itjust.works 10 points 1 year ago (2 children)

But if you don't signal, how will the commoners know to make way?

[–] Beardsley@lemmy.world 7 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

"Don't rightly care if they do."

[–] thericofactor@sh.itjust.works 7 points 1 year ago (1 children)

The blinkers should just engage the headlights blinking in a BMW.

[–] victorz@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

I thought that's how BMWs already worked.

That's NASCAR mode. You hit the gas and just keep going left.

[–] Randelung@lemmy.world 9 points 1 year ago

Don't worry, it'll be fine in 0.5s.

Oh no, it's back!

Never mind, it's fine.

Wait no!

Hmmm. I think it means somethings wrong with your speedometer. I mean it's pointing directly at it.

[–] odium@programming.dev 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think it means your speedometer is displaying double your actual speed. So you can go at a speed that the speedometer says is twice the speed limit, and you'll actually be going at the speed limit.

Hope that helps 👍

[–] Chaos0f7ife@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

I followed your advice, now I'm sitting in jail. What did I do wrong?

[–] locahosr443@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago

It's pointing at 100 which is the minimum speed the car expects to be doing.

Really it's just a gentle reminder if you're not driving it right

[–] normalexit@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

In my experience an unexpected light on your dashboard is about $1000 minimum at the dealership. I fear for the owner.

[–] rem26_art@fedia.io 3 points 1 year ago

Take it to a service center immediately. Thats not normal. Your car is at risk of becoming a different car

In the full image, there's visible cobwebs on the blinker switch.

[–] fin@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That arrow means you meed to accelerate to 100km/h

[–] nightwatch_admin@feddit.nl 2 points 1 year ago

How, if you are already going over that speed constantly?

[–] QaspR@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Shit man, you gotta get that checked out. This is the "honk at me" feature. It means your car has detected that you're an idiot and everyone will start honking at you and passing you on the right.

Do you also hear a ticking sound? If so, the car just entered a SUICIDE BOMBING MODE. It's on a timer to let you escape; follow the arrow for the nearest exit.

Pray tell for what reason are you asking OP this?

[–] Sam_Bass@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Because older people tend to flip it on and leave it on with no intention to change lanes or turn anywhere
