Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

“I am grateful to God that I am still alive today,” he posted, and shared a surveillance video appearing to show a man with the weapons.

“While heartbreaking, it could have been so unimaginably worse,” the post continued. “God have mercy. Doxing is not a game.”

first off. bitch, please. doxxing is Fuente's weapon of choice.

Secondly, why would this guy, whose being hunted for police for killing people he knew... go to Fuentes' house?

My guess, he was seeking help in hiding from the cops. (though also, that kinda looks like Fuentes... are we sure it's Lyons?)

[–] nickhammes@lemmy.world 32 points 1 year ago

I like the idea that Fuentes saw a coincidence, decided to play it up, by cosplaying as a dude with a crossbow who was actually in his neighborhood, standing threateningly on his own porch, to play a victim because he didn't get to be one in real life.

Even if it didn't transpire that way, it's funny how it totally fits.

Your body, his choice. Right, Nick?

[–] robocall@lemmy.world 14 points 1 year ago

Imagine if he opened the door and the shooter said that? Terrible thought.

[–] Stopthatgirl7@lemmy.world 32 points 1 year ago

That “your body my choice” was all just fun and games to him when it was scaring women. Not so funny now, huh, Nick.

One of the reasons I don’t like religion is bc of this shit. He thinks his deity stepped in and saved him when it lets children all over the world die every day.

Shit stains like this ruin everything for everyone else.

Apparently he will “have to uproot my life and relocate. While I can handle whatever comes to my front door, it is irresponsible to expect my neighbors with young families to share that burden.”

Hehehe. Well, you were live-streaming. Why didn’t you go out and handle this guy? That would have definitely been good publicity.

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 18 points 1 year ago (1 children)

First off, total coincidence, secondly the guy totally whiffed it.

[–] ramsorge@discuss.online 13 points 1 year ago

Yeah, dude was on a killing spree, didn’t even know who he was. Nick claims he called his name, but who was there to witness that? No one.

It’s a wild coincidence and he’s a conspiracy theorist.

It is a sign of our current reality that I have no idea if this is real or not. My instinct is that it isn't, but anything is possible. You could have showed me a Ring screenshot of a man in a bunny costume holding a dildo and a pumpkin and I wouldn't have ruled it out.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 6 points 1 year ago

Having seen a street view of the house, this image is consistent with the architecture of Nick Fuentes' house. Brickwork, location of front stoop, sidewalk.

“a Ring screenshot of a man in a bunny costume holding a dildo and a pumpkin”

I really need to see this now.

Everyone I know has a metal antler dildo

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 10 points 1 year ago (1 children)

But at least he politely waited at the door to shoot him.

[–] dual_sport_dork@lemmy.world 8 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Wow, a Ruger MKIV and one of those flea market ninja warrior wannabe toy crossbows.

Somebody's on a budget, I see.

[–] Graphy@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

The perfect weapon to poke holes into the drywall of your friends parent’s basement

[–] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 1 points 1 year ago

Those little crossbows are really good for killing tiny rodents. Ask how I know.....

~~So, this guy is just running around in suburbia with a gun and a crossbow, and cops can't find him?~~

NM, should've read the article first.

[–] uberdroog@lemmy.world 10 points 1 year ago

The crazies are gonna lose track of their craziest. They were just playing a game, some people out there are not.

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 year ago

Shame the dude wasn't taken alive.

[–] wildcardology@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago

It's funny that he "bravely" confronted a 57 year old woman at his door. But not this one.
