By dropping out of the race, Biden may have just saved democracy in America.

because unlike the guy on the other side, it is not all about himself

Yeah, but it seemed like a near thing.

But it wasn't though. Joe picked the perfect time to drop out. The Rs weren't prepared for Harris and they have no idea what to say anymore. And she's young enough to pick up the slack and run a successful campaign in half the time.

What's crazy to me is that it completely usurped the assassination attempt. Nobody is talking about that now. A candidate for president was nearly killed and two weeks later it's like it didn't happen.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 11 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Part of that is to really talk about the assassination attempt, you need to talk about gun control.

Because the shooter was the classic school shooter. A conservative gun nut who didn't fit in with his more liberal classmates.

He just graduated before blowing his load.

The GOP literally cannot spin that in a way that lets them keep pushing for more guns, so they just don't talk about it.

Daily reminder that Reagan passed gun control laws in California because the Black Panthers were armed.
