Didn't Starfleet Academy get canceled?

It was picked up very early for Season 2, which has yet to air, and then cancelled.

I understand there was political influence behind the scenes with Paramount but why would anyone want to go to a "season 2 preview" of a show that's already canceled? It's like how Netflix cancels a show a week after season 1 drops and then they complain that nobody is watching it.

I have no idea what the situation is, but I'm glad they're (a) still planning to air the second season, and (b) are willing to promote it.
