My personal opinion: too big reliance on software -- cars are no longer hardware based but software based. If you add AI to it...

If you add AI to it...

There is no AI in the fucking cars.

That's ragsheet journalism.

2026 cars have some self learning capabilities regarding deployment strategies

https://www.motorsport.com/f1/news/explained-are-drivers-really-being-beaten-by-ai-elements-in-f1s-2026-power-units/10840877/

It means the algorithm learns from previous laps, constantly adapting to the input it gets from the driver to optimise deployment for the next one, something Piastri said also applies to an out-lap.

A few years ago, this was cutting edge AI.

Self-lerning might be realised just as adaptive control I suppose or very basic machine learning like linear regression and such things can be hyped as AI. But of course, I just speculate, maybe they are insane enough to use code from chatgpt or deep learning network which does not generalise since it would require billions of training examples.

I'm going to go out on limb and say OP is not a journalist.

Nah, this was nothing compared to the 2005 USA Grand Prix

Read about Zolder in 1981. Warning - the race recap videos aren’t the easiest to watch, the start was pretty nasty.

That was less amateurish and more wtf?! How it wasn't tragic is a miracle
