In the roman or greece empire how easy was it to become an assassin or buy one? Did they just go to the nearest friend or relative and say hey kill this person and I will give you such and such money? (lemmy.world)

Define assassin? Most unlawful killings that went unpunished in the time of the Roman Empire were done either by criminal gangs, carefully pre-orchestrated coups, or angry mobs.
