General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

How to get conservative votes :

  1. Promise them more money

I don't think the Lib Dems will follow step 2 though :

  1. Say bigoted shit

Sir Ed told the Lib Dem faithful "the difference between us and Reform" is that "their tax cut is paid for through cruelty."

I think that there might be a wee few other differences. I mean, I get that he's targeting the big chunk of people who are saying that they're gonna vote Reform in the next general election, and those people probably are more favorable towards Reform than I am, but seriously...

Sorry to say but unless UK is on the same wage level as the more recent EU members, unified market wont bring any good to ordinaty people. Germanies companies are currently outsourcing the scarce jobs we have to poland, romania, estonia. You only subsidize those countries and in 20 years nothing came back of it as EU only ever adds poorer countries to their members.
