They sent a me a three pages long pdf file regarding the why, when, and all the rest. After skimming over it for about half a minute, I immediately responded with YES! Details can wait. ^^

I feel a bit stunned. I've been on good terms with one of the lads for about 20 years now. I wouldn't say we're friends, but we get along just fine whenever our paths cross. Their drummer will be off for a family gathering abroad early next year and they're looking for someone to play the drums on two live concerts. Being a plain music teacher, I feel honoured by the band's enquiry. Apparently some of my recorded and shared with friends practise sessions found their way towards them.

They even hinted at the possibility to record their new album with them since their drummer might be unavailabe for the booked studio time next year.

I think it's a great opportunity, I love their groove, and I'll be the first woman to ever play with their band. Let the good times roll!

This is the stuff that dreams are made of. Rock on with your bad self.

I feel so flattered by something they said about my drumming style.

No matter what genre you're playing, be it Jazz or Blues or Rock. There's some very funky Punk grooves you're constantly playing on the snare and hi hat and your ghost notes are beyond insanitiy. It's freaky good and we want that!

Now, that's how you charm a drummer girl. ^^

Thank you for sharing these amazingly good vibes, I'm lucky this is the first thing I read about on my Saturday morning. 😁

Damn, I instantly had to save this great gig. :)

I feel a bit anxious now, though, because my old band had audiences around 1k and soon I'll be playing for about 10k. That's a step up on the ladder for sure.

Scotty, please beam me up to my safe space! :D

Sounds like you're in a great place with an opportunity to stretch your creative legs. Best to focus on having fun in the moment.

I do love their political message. One thing I don't like about playing live on stage is the fecking heat from the lights. Maybe a rare occasion to see me live in a tank top and sporting a a bun. ^^

Bad timing, though, I injured my right ankle on Thursday. Need to see my GP about it. I already got an appointment scheduled for Tuesday morning. I hope it's nothing serious.

Spock can play the space lute for me anytime.

Break a leg number 1! On this field mission you are authorized to set your phasers to funk.

[–] AbsolutelyNotSpez@lemmy.world 17 points 18 hours ago

I'll have to set them to Punk, but either way it'll sound great. ^^

Whoa! Congrats for that opportunity! How freaking cool is that!

Just watch out for open sewer grates, Teach:

[–] AbsolutelyNotSpez@lemmy.world 7 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Thank you. I'm still highly confused, but I feel so good about what the band members (including their regular drummer) said about my style.

[–] negativenull@piefed.world 8 points 17 hours ago

If they called you, they believe in you! You got it! Live it up as much as you can!

My band opened for Groove Collective in the early '00s. Very cool guys. Definitely in my top 3 for best gig ever.

Damn, I love them lots! Now I feel a bit jealous. :D

Which band if you don't mind me asking? Maybe I'll check them out

[–] verity_kindle@sh.itjust.works 2 points 7 hours ago

It's the Klingon band from the other thread.
