Some posters on Lemmy periodically try to manufacture a meme/viral moment. But rather than expressing something of the communities character, or being interesting it's just a "this week we're posting bananas" type shit.
It's like when a corporation wants to get in the news but isn't creative or in touch enough.

The manufactured "har har Lemmy is trying to meme" crap just makes me close the app and walk away.
