Just hand him a beer and he'll forget when he's supposed to be running. Daft cunt.

[–] Alexfire@lemmy.world 4 points 1 hour ago

With running mate, Lumpy Pillows, will win bigly!

[–] kukukese@lemmy.world 6 points 2 hours ago

Iran war didn't go well, now he planning to be the boss? Well, let's see how it goes for him.

Oh fuck, I need to keep my wallet closed. Last time a person who obviously cannot get elected became the GOP candidate, I bet a lot of money against his win. :(

Fortunately, I did the same 4 years earlier when the same happened :)

Completely normal for a genocidal empire that murders schoolgirls with impunity.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Wonder if he and Trump are going for a Putin/Medvedev situation.

[–] Sylvartas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 hours ago

Didn't Putin allegedly get a little mad at this situation ? Trump couldn't mentally survive not being officially the big guy for a day.

[–] hoppeduponcoffee@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 hours ago

Whoops, Trump going to throw him under the bus in 3… 2…. 1….

[–] jpreston2005@lemmy.world 9 points 4 hours ago (2 children)

Hilarious, because we all know it's just going to be the orange pedophile again.

That’s gonna be a hard sell to a lot of people. I’m moderate and I wouldn’t vote for either one of these dudes. They need to pick someone sane? Or is the insanity the selling point, and I’m just out of touch?

[–] BigPotato@lemmy.world 1 points 17 minutes ago

Or is the insanity the selling point

Yes, why would you vote for a politician who is just going to line their pockets when you can vote for a lunatic that says it's okay to say slurs who is just going to line his pockets? I mean, what's life if you can't say slurs to people? Other people in my trailer park need to know they're lesser than me and Nancy Pelosi stock trades gender fluids transmission imported beef participation trophies nobody legal wants to work and all the illegals are not working and taking all the jobs and welfare for $9 lattes avocado toast. I will either hang myself from my F350s lifted trailer hitch or vote for Trump. What's it going to be, liberal?

[–] Oyml77@lemmy.today 1 points 1 hour ago

I just have a hard time believing they can keep him both alive and sufficiently lucid enough to be viable for 2028. He's struggling to hold it together through an entire Nazi rally now.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

The difference between Trump and Pete the drunk is for all Trumps faults, he is a charismatic speaker (threw up in my mouth a little saying a nice thing about him)

[–] MBech@feddit.dk 9 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago) (2 children)

I've never understood why people think that. Most of what comes out of his mouth makes absolutely no sense. If I was to act completely impartial, and forget everything I know about the monster, listening to him wouldn't make me think "What a charismatic guy". He sounds like he's 2 brain cells away from having a stroke.

[–] NocturnalMorning@lemmy.world 2 points 16 minutes ago

Yes, now it's absolute nonsense, but back in 2016 and earlier he was a lot more coherent, and the racists ate it up.

[–] Sylvartas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 2 hours ago

Yeah I don't understand it at all. Dude has the charisma of a used cars salesman (way too confident and energetic) with the eloquence of a toddler and somehow that makes him a demigod to his base ? (and I do have several examples of people I politically and/or personally despise who actually have charisma)

[–] teelin134@programming.dev 53 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

Guy who lost a war with Iran wants to be president.

Must be the type who has failed upwards his entire life.

[–] theedqueen@lemmy.world 26 points 12 hours ago

I mean so far that has been very true

[–] blastosist@lemmy.zip 14 points 10 hours ago

President Kegsbreath..

[–] 6stringringer@lemmy.zip 13 points 10 hours ago

The boy ain’t even fit for T-ball.

[–] ulkesh@piefed.social 56 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

You guys laugh, but there seems to be enough wannabe-macho small-penis dudebro idiot voters that could get the loser elected. Do not assume it won't happen.

wannabe-macho small-penis dudebro idiot voters

USA in a nutshell.

[–] ruan@lemmy.eco.br 8 points 11 hours ago* (last edited 11 hours ago) (2 children)

I'm not from the USA, neither an English native speaker, but is Peter Hegseth in any way charismatic? I find Trump totally repulsive, however I can understand his "charism" that attracts people to vote for him when he's there mumbling his rampts and narcistic histories. So far, since 2025, that I can remember, anytime I saw any video of Peter Hegseth speaking he seems to have the same charism as a door.

This, would, of course, be important for a presidential candidate If there is any "democracy" left during the election time, since Trump's popularity is decreasing, his government does not seem too promising on having "good results" to show when the election time comes, therefore the transfer of charism and therefore votes that Trump would be able to execute would be limited, and the new candidate would have to work on his own.

Given the current state of affairs, as an external observator and not too familiar with USA real politics dynamics, I find it's easier for Trump and republicans to continue the rampamt breaking of laws and just really push for a 3rd term, as he's been publicly "teasing" since his 2024 campaign...

P.S.: Just to finish up, there's also the fact that Trump is old as f*, and seems to be becoming more senile by the minute (i.e.: his almost at the age his dad was diagnoses with dementia iirc), so maybe the thing is they would just be forced to move on from him and the "3rd term" thing would really just not come to fruition due to bad timing (Trump going full demented, dying, etc...). Or maybe if his popularity keeps going down, who knows if the democracts can obtain any majority in the midterm elections and put up an impeachment on both houses this time, this would also chance the outlook of things and force the republicans to choose a new candidate sooner than later.

[–] hoppeduponcoffee@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

He’s not charismatic, he just spouts hateful fascist ideology that hateful fascists crave.

None of these guys are. Elon “Nazi Salute” Musk, Rupert Murdoch, Zuckerberg, Thiel, Bannon, Bezos, and the entirety of Trump’s cabinet. They are social idiots and have zero charisma.

[–] decolo@piefed.social 8 points 9 hours ago

The only thing hegseth has going for him is his 'TV look' and willingness to eat shit if it owns the libs (our conservatives have no shame, and love embarrassing themselves to get a reaction from 'the left')

[–] resipsaloquitur@lemmy.cafe 158 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

Please be the republican nominee.

[–] lemmy_outta_here@lemmy.world 123 points 16 hours ago (12 children)

Keep in mind that is exactly what I thought when Trump announced his candidacy in 2015.
