Wow I hadn't seen the video of the actual glacier collapse. Very good rundown of the locations and timelines. Tragedy for all involved.

I haven't watched this, but I can tell you without any doubt that this is absolutely rubbish.

The disaster zone is still in rescue mode, infrastructure is pretty much wiped out, humanitarian aid hasn't even started arriving and there's no evidence of scientists being on the ground to physically inspect the area to figure out exactly what happened and how.

Mind you, that's not stopping the armchair "experts" from making YouTube videos, complete with Assumed Intelligence slop, that explain everything as fact, rather than the fiction it so clearly is.

What an absolutely idiotic comment 😂😂

We know this was a climate related glacial collapse

We see from the geological tremors that there was no earthquake, the shaking was caused by the glacier collapse.

Why make a comment if you haven't even watched the video?

We truly live with idiots amongst us

I don’t blame you for that gut reaction, probably the safest instinct in today’s world. That being said I honestly can’t tell if OPs videos are real or not. It appears to be a news agency called France24 but the footage is so surreal as to be indistinguishable from disaster movie cgi and a few of the shots capturing the initial collapse look like they may have been recreated?

What a time to be alive.

France 24 seems to be a legit publication, but it's possible the glacier collapse video is a recreation. Also possible that it was a state-owned video that they acquired, which is why it hadn't been shared on social media up until now.

https://www.france24.com/en/asia-pacific/20260828-nepal-tibet-live-china-warns-lake-formed-by-mudslide-on-nepal-border-could-breach France24 has been a great source for news regarding this event.

Yes, the initial collapse is recreated but it's based on satellite imagery (which is displayed in the video)
