To be fair to Meta it is full with all kind of racist and religious-phobic posts.

[–] ivanafterall@lemmy.world 2 points 3 hours ago

And they wouldn't have it any other way!

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 7 points 12 hours ago

Okay I'm ready to take in the crusaders. Now where are we fighting again? I don't see a quest marker.

[–] GreenKnight23@lemmy.world 4 points 12 hours ago

you mean the last 22 years haven't been?

[–] ironpangolin29@lemmy.ca 11 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

If racist hate and discrimination can't be moderated and taken care of, it must be shut down in its entirety.

It's no different than Nazism and people handing out paper flyers, also illegal. It must be treated as such to uphold any semblance of decent moral fabric throughout an interconnected world.

[–] BlindPenguin@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

It can be moderated, it's just not profitable for them

This. Facebook is already involved in a genocide. Zuckerberg does know what happened there. He is allowing the same hatred on his platform again. That is intentional.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 3 hours ago

zuck's facebook already purposely push russian propaganda on the site.

As a former Christian, those people aren't Christians.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 9 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

As a former Scotsman, those people aren't Scotsmen

[–] 800XL@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago

It's not true!

[–] Archimedes@sh.itjust.works 3 points 11 hours ago

You just made an enemy for life!

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 13 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Unfortunately, they are. Christianity is a 'Choose Your Own Adventure' religion, which is why there are so many different sects and belief systems.

[–] daggermoon@piefed.world 15 points 19 hours ago

"And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by others. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full."

Matthew 6:5

My point is real Christians shut the fuck up about their faith as they have nothing to prove.

I find it extremely funny how these idiots love to invoke the crusades every chance they get. Reading about Crusader history you'd find that, other than the first Crusade, they were largely a failure and failed to achieve their goals (especially after Saladin captured Jerusalem).

Not to mention the fourth crusade, were Crusaders sacked not 1 but 2 Christian cities.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 4 points 20 hours ago

This was my thought as well.

People who think this way have clearly never cracked open a history book.

[–] CosmoNova@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Or in December 1098 when crusaders cannibalized the city of Ma‘arra. So heroic…

[–] Evotech@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

Reading? They don’t do that. But crusade art slaps

You think Meta is generating most of it themselves to intentionally stoke Islamophobia? They're evil enough to do that and they have a past history of this sorta thing.

[–] breakfastmtn@lemmy.ca 17 points 1 day ago

Those are all examples of Facebook failing to moderate, not creating content.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 4 points 1 day ago

yes, or at least allowing propaganda bots to do it. meta, zuck has a vested interest in keeping right wing content flowing.

[–] halezinflames@lemmus.org 12 points 1 day ago (5 children)

Do people even still use Facebook or has it completely been taken over by bots at this point?

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 3 hours ago

both, gen-xers right wingers use it alot, and it pushes alot of right wing content on it. and facebook has been mostly bots, even more so now with AI. reddit is really trying to emulate it.

[–] ironpangolin29@lemmy.ca 5 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago) (1 children)

Bots, AI, misinformation/disinformation, hatred, predators and depressed people.

My mental health has thrived having deleted my meta account last year.

[–] halezinflames@lemmus.org 2 points 15 hours ago

You got this, proud of you for taking that step

Hopefully Zuck gets hit where it hurts

[–] frongt@lemmy.zip 3 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

Groups, primarily. Marketplace somewhat. The rest is absolute trash.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 1 points 16 hours ago

was gonna say most groups in yahoo went to facebook.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 7 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

right wing magats, mostly boomers/gen xers use it. thats why zuck see it as important to continue to grift from them. also its mostly ai slop anyways.

[–] IckabodKobain@feddit.online 1 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

I left that garbage eons ago. I'm unfortunately Gen-X. There are a lot of us on there. I usually tell people I'm a Xennial now because to be honest, I don't friggin remember anything past 1980. I remember the scary ass fucking puppet lady from Mr Rogers if that means anything lol

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 2 points 16 hours ago

to bad as I worry people won't realize how good things can be without a perspective from the 70's. it was not all hams and plaques but its direction was improvement. I often think about how when you were hard pressed to see anything plastic outside of toys that life was pretty nice and convenient enough. As much as I like the internet and computers im starting to feel like there is not a whole lot of quality of life improvements with technology in a general way.

[–] 666dollarfootlong@lemmy.world 5 points 23 hours ago

Sometimes I go to fb to see a restaurants page or something, and when I press back it takes me to the front page. Out of morbid curiosity I sometimes scroll a bit, and lately there are so many posts from ~ 30-50yr old people pointing out how many mosques there are (here in Finland), how many people are wearing hijabs, etc. Like its straight up literal xenophobia, fear of foreign people.

[–] Blackfeathr@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

I live a few miles from Dearborn, and my nearby MAGA relatives are putting in overtime sharing all this slop because they have been whipped up into a frenzy about da scary Mooslems for decades.

[–] Flower@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Who hates muslim and is good at these kinds of electronic warfare games? Could be Israel.

[–] lechekaflan@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

Or India, as half the time the BJP fanatics were found stuffing Facebook with such garbage.

[–] Zen_Shinobi@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago

Imagine saying you support the US Constitution and then agree with shitbird of a "human". Fuck him!

[–] Skunk@jlai.lu 5 points 1 day ago

Ironic that a non American metric shit ton of those AI posts are made by foreigners living in Muslim countries (or not). They do that because hate brings views and views bring money.

So the old Bob and Sarah are sharing AI slop made by an Indi or Muslim dude on another continent that they’re unable to place on a map.
