Not really chess related but reading the section on the part time employee I'm just picturing the first day "hey welcome to the team. Congratulations on your first day. Your first task is designing a way for me to pay you... The longer it takes the longer you don't get paid" probably not how it happened but would be a funny scene.

Haha, funny idea. But the cool thing about Lichess is their transparency. You can see the whole cost break down at https://lichess.org/costs and even see exactly how much their employees make. I am actually surprised how "little" their lead developer earns for a Senior Lead Developer, given some of the wages in tech.
Yeah, the lead developer is a legend. Like I said I doubt that's what happened but the idea of having to write a system to pay yourself as your first task at a job just made me giggle.
